Obituary

Ada Ann Hall, 75, of West Frankfort, IL, went to be with the lord at 11:45 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015, surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born on October 1, 1939, in West Frankfort, IL, the daughter of George and Callie Mae (Johns) Smith. Ada was a member of Grace Awakening Community Church and was very active in the Wednesday night Women's Ministries Bible Study. She enjoyed being with friends and family. She was an avid basketball fan, and a member of the Red Hats Society, she always enjoyed life and missed her calling in life as a comedian. Her family, friends and church family will miss her. Ms. Hall is preceded in death by her parents, George Smith and Callie Mae Rich, two brothers and two sisters. Ada is survived by her children, Jeffery Maddox and wife Lori of Port Charlotte, FL and Stacey Blake and husband Bill of Springfield, OH, four grandchildren, Brandon and Breanna Maddox, Andrew and Matthew Blake, one great grandchild, Blake Maddox, brother and sister, Herbert Smith and wife Mary, and Mary Starkey, special niece Sue Mace and others, Molly Smith and husband William, Mike Mace and wife Jill, a God child, Tim Mace, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Grace Awakening Community Church in Benton on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate Ada's life with Rev. Ken Petty Officiating services. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Awakening Community Church in Benton, IL. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory.
