Amanda Joe Malkovich - Benton, IL Amanda Joe Malkovich, 50, of Benton, Ill., died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Ms. Malkovich was born on March 23, 1960 in Benton, the daughter of Daniel Leon Malkovich and Joe Anne (Choisser) Malkovich. Mandy was a 1978 graduate of Benton Consolidated High School where she was a National Merit Scholar. She attended Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, Penn. and received a masters degree from University of Illinois Chicago. She was a nanny, schoolteacher, newspaper reporter, television production assistant, and private investigator. Mandy was of the Catholic faith. She was a founding member of the Hag Patch in Victor, Idaho. She loved gardening, knitting, quilting, cooking, and reading. Mandy had a profound impact on the lives of those she knew and loved. In her final months and with a 25-year battle with cancer coming to a close, she returned to Southern Illinois and the landscape she treasured. Surviving relatives include two brothers, Daniel Malkovich and wife Debbie, Sesser, John Malkovich and Nicole Peyran, Cambridge, Mass., two sisters, Melissa Malkovich and Joe Starita, Seagrove Beach, Fla., and Rebecca Malkovich, Benton, nieces and nephews, Matthew Malkovich and wife Brandi, Orlando, Fla., Loewy and Amandine Malkovich, Cambridge, Mass., Jesse Starita, Lincoln, Neb., Jake and Eli Ivanovich, Benton, Tim Eubanks and wife Kim, Benton, T.J. Eubanks, Sesser, and Bayley Eubanks, Benton, and honorary daughter, Zoe Perry, Los Angeles, Calif. Ms. Malkovich was preceded in death by her parents. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, with Father Joseph Trapp officiating.
