Ann "Yanni" S. Padavic, 88, of O'Fallon, IL, formerly of Benton, passed away of sound mind at 2:18 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, surrounded by love and laughter of her granddaughters and grand son-in-law at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Mrs. Padavic was born on November 2, 1927, in Gary, WV, the daughter of Frank and Esther Spinelli. She married Frank J. Padavic in Gary, WV, on June 28, 1952, and he proceeded her in death on May 9, 2010.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and participated in altar angels and Meals on Wheels. Ann was actively involved in community service with the Food Pantry, a former playground supervisor at Lincoln School. Ann was known to participate with many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. She would pamper them with food, laughter and greeting cards for every holiday occasion. Ann will always be remembered for her generosity to her church community, Colonnade Senior Living Center in O'Fallon, IL, and to her loving family.
Ann is survived by her sons, Gary Padavic and wife Terry Roemer, Oakland, CA, Chris Padavic and wife Paula, Evansville, IN, and the late Joe Padavic; a daughter, Fran Williamson and husband Kemal, O'Fallon, IL, a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Padavic Trusty, Benton, IL; nine grandchildren, Jeff Padavic and wife Stacy, Benton, IL, Jara Wilson and husband Brad, Benton, IL, Kate Nottingham and husband Brian, Webster Grove, MO, David Padavic and wife Julie, Springfield, IL, Jessica Padavic Gillman and husband Jimmy, Orlando, FL, Jenny Padavic, New York City, NY, Melissa Padavic, Evansville, IN, Adina and Killara Williamson, both of O'Fallon, IL; 13 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Emma, Cecilia, Maxim, Esther, Agnes and Bernadette Nottingham, Seth and Joecy Padavic, Tyler Golliher, Kadinz and Keezley Wilson, and Johanna Gillman; sisters, Ann Sue Wojenski and husband Joe, Mary Tribuzio and husband, Pete, Rose Bouchard and Joann Nicastro all of Bristol, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son; brothers, Angelo, Tony, and Stevie Spinelli; sister, Callie Bisignano.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, 301 S. Main Street, Benton, IL, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m.. Monday, January 4, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benton, IL, with Father Urban Osuji officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
