Anna Lorene Doty - Benton Anna Lorene Doty, 88, of Benton passed away at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at StoneBridge Senior Living Center. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. The family asks that anyone wishing to make memorial contributions do so to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory in Benton is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Doty was born in Parrish on July 11, 1923, to Jarett and Anna Belle (Braden) Sullivan. She married Wyatt Grant Doty on July 12, 1941, and he died May 25, 2009. Mrs. Doty was a housewife, loving mother and grandmother. Her life was devoted to service of others, always putting her needs and desires behind the needs and desires of her family. She started life in a tragic way, being blown away from her family in the Great Tornado of 1925 at the age of 2. Her parents buried another little girl believing it to be her. Fortunately, she was found by a kind lady that took care of her until her parents could locate her and reunite her with her own family. Mrs. Doty was a faithful member of Middle Fork Salem Primitive Baptist Church for over 60 years. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. Her family consoles themselves in the hopes that she is once again reunited with her husband and family that have gone before her. Mrs. Doty is survived by two children, Carolyn Sue Neal of Benton, and Ed Doty and wife Sue of Benton, four grandchildren, Lisa Stearns, Melissa Reynolds and husband Marty, Eddie Doty, and Tammy Martin and husband Mike
