Barbara Jean Schram - Benton, IL Barbara Jean Schram, 70, of Benton, IL, died at 2:45 a. m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Herrin Hospital. Mrs. Schram was born on September 25, 1942 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Emil Philipak and Grace (OConnor) Philipak. She married Ralph E. Schram and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1994. Barbara retired as a registered nurse from the Franklin-Williamson Human Services in West Frankfort, IL and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton. She was a member of the Big Muddy Momma' Investment Club enjoyed dancing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving relatives include three children, Susan (Jarret Kinder) Williams, Chattanooga, TN, David (Lori) Schram, Attalla, AL, Brian (Erica) Schram, Benton, IL, six grandchildren, Bradley Schram, Benton, IL, Kristen Englebright, St. Louis, MO, Brent Schram, West Frankfort, IL, Laura Schram, Brandon Schram and Bryson Schram, all of Benton, IL, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Philipak, Kyiv, Ukraine, Emil Philipak, St. Louis, MO, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Schram was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Patricia Ann Simpson and Shirley Bendrick, and one brother, Oliver James Philipak. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton with a prayer service at 7:30 p. m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton.
