Obituary

Bennie Huffine - Benton, IL Bennie Huffine, 82, of Benton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:42 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Helia Healthcare, Benton. Mrs. Huffine was born on December 10, 1929 in Cromwell, KY the daughter of Birch Shields and Lee (Renfrow) Shields. Bennie worked as a factory worker at Thomas Industries in Beaver Dam, KY where she helped manufacture light fixtures. She was an avid bowler, a member of the Green River Baptist Church, Cromwell, KY and the Eastern Star and White Shrine. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Originally from Kentucky, Bennie had lived in Benton for the past thirteen years to be closer to her two sons. Surviving relatives include her two sons, Michael (Nancy) Huffine, West Frankfort, Roy (Peggy) Huffine, Thompsonville, two grandchildren, Matthew Huffine, Paducah, KY, Lisa (Jeff) Emery, Marion, IL, two great-grandchildren, Madison and William Emery, both of Marion, IL, three nieces, Kathy Jo (David) Ball, Cromwell, KY, Terry Lynn Reid, Louisville, KY, Debbie Shields, Louisville, KY, three nephews, Jimmy Coots, Lanny Shields, and Charlie Shields, all of Beaver Dam, KY. Mrs. Huffine was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, A.Z. Coots, four brothers, Albert, Buster, Crittendon, and Lanny Shields. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Knob Prairie Cemetery, Akin with Elder William Huffine officiating. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knob Prairie Cemetery, C/O Wesla Tennant, 20107 W.
