Bernadine (Haapoja) Turner - Benton, IL Bernadine (Haapoja) Turner, 89, of Benton, IL, died at 10:20 p. m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at her home in Benton with her loved ones by her side. Mrs. Turner was born on April 17, 1924 in Wakefield, MI the daughter of Arthur Haapoja and Fannie (Lynn) Haapoja. She married Clayton Turner on March 2, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2011. Bernadine retired as a dietician supervisor from Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, IL and was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Donna Bauer, Benton, IL, a son, Colin (Jan) Turner, Rockford, MI, five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Bernadines wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services.
