Mr. Elliott was born on August 4, 1944 in Chicago, IL. He married the former Paula (Minuth) Gardner in September, 1983 and she survives. Bernie was a retired Prosthetic Technician and a ten year U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Benton, IL and loved fishing and reading. Surviving relatives include his wife Paula Elliott, Benton, IL, two daughters, Brieanne Elliott, Benton, IL, Deanna Lynn Elliott, Phoenix, AZ, three step-children, Keith Gardner, Wausau, WI, Julie Tobin, Bloomington, IN, Kris Gardner, Plainfield, IL, eight grandchildren, two-great-grandchildren, his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Jack Russell, Hull, TX, one sister, Paulette Peters, Midlothian, IL, four brothers, John Langreder, Arizona, Bob Langreder, Surprise, AZ, Earl Langreder (deceased), Greg Langreder, California, uncle and aunt, Bill and Karen Westering, St. Charles, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
