Betty Ruth (Boggs) Miljan, 87, of Benton, IL, died at 2:38 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Miljan was born on February 1, 1928 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of George E. Boggs and Gertrude (Demonthier) Boggs. Betty graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School, Flint, MI. She married Robert Edward Miljan, Sr. on November 29, 1947 and he survives. She worked at the General Motors A.C. Sparkplug Division for seven years prior to moving to Benton, IL. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benton, IL, where she served as a Liturgical Minister and offertory presenter. Surviving relatives include four sons, Robert Edward Miljan, Jr. and wife Christina, West Bloomfield, MI, Steven George Miljan and wife Denesse, Bowling, KY, Bradley Keith Miljan and wife Laurie, Benton, IL, Michael David Miljan, Sr. and wife Judith, Spring Lake, MI, one daughter, Marsha Ann (Miljan) Reed and husband Jeff, Byron, MI, eleven grandchildren, Robert Edward Miljan, III and wife Kati, Lebanon, New Hampshire, Ryan Karl Miljan and wife Leah, Plymouth, MI, Lacie Nicole (Miljan) Wilson and husband Jonathon, Columbia, KY, Justin Reed, Durand, MI, Amber (Miljan) Nason and husband Bradon, Cooperville, MI, Amanda Brooke (Miljan) Morel and husband Chris, Bowling, KY, Annie (Miljan) Marshall and husband Jonathon, Michael David Miljan, Jr., and wife Kerry, Oconomowoc, WI, Jamie (Reed) Johnson and husband Keith, Mt. Rose, MI, Ilene (Hensley) Gilmore, West Bloomfield, MI, Amber Hensley, West Bloomfield, MI, two sisters, Elaine Buckles, Fenton, MI, Marjorie Hardy and husband Butch, Flushing, MI, one brother, Robert Boggs and wife Arlene, Davison, MI, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miljan was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Gerry Strand, and a brother-in-law, Harry Buckles. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benton, IL with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, Flint, MI with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A private family viewing will at 9:00 a.m. with a prayer service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, Flint, MI. The funeral procession will leave following the prayer service for a graveside service at the New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
