Betty R. Jones, 86, of Churubusco, passed away on May 31, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Born in Belle Rive, IL., on August 29, 1930, she was the daughter of Roy and Leila Mae (Waggoner) Taylor.

She was married on July 5, 1969, to George W. Jones. He preceded her in death.

She retired from DeKalb Feed in Rockfalls, IL. She the would work for Barton's Glass and Paint in Dyer, IN.

Betty was a board member of the Illinois Artisan Program, Past President of the Schererville Women's Club, and the American Quilters Socity.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Lynda Jones of Churubusco; her son, Roy (Diane) Jones of Dixon, IL; two grandsons Brian (Chelsie) Jones and Aaron Jones; a granddaughter, Stephanie (Robert) Sevenberg; seven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.


Arrangements are under the direction of Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 1:00  to 2:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held June 8, 2017, at 2:45 p.m., at Liberty Cemetery in Macedonia, IL.
