Bobby Glenn Cozart - Benton, IL Bobby Glenn Cozart, 71, passed away after a three year battle against cancer. He fought with courage and strength but was finally forced to give in to the disease. He was surrounded by his family which was what he had wanted very much and his family was surrounded by his love all through his life. He will be missed forever. His wishes were to be cremated and he will be honored by his loved ones. Bob was born on January 4, 1940 in Brownsville, IL the son of John and Lena (Turner) Cozart. He was one of seven children. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 thru 1963. He married the former Tina Reeder on November 9, 1963 and they shared 47 years together. Bob worked as an electrician out of the IBEW Local 702 for 33 years. He enjoyed his work and the many people he worked with. He enjoyed even more his retirement of nine years at Benton Lake. But the thing he enjoyed the most was being a father to his children and a grandfather (Poppy) to his six grandchildren. They were the light of his life. The ones who will go on without him are his wife and children, Christopher (Gina) Cozart, Ewing, IL, Deedra (Brent) McLain, Benton, IL, six grandchildren, Joshua and Jaylyn Cozart, Mia and Madi, Gabriel, and Analisse McLain, his sister, Jean (Lowell) Smith, Brownsville, IL, his brothers, Ivan (Mary Lou) Cozart, Norris City, IL, Tommy (Nina) Cozart, Carmi, IL, and his mother-in-law, Margaret (Harry) Reeder-Orloff, Benton, IL, sisters-in-law, Debbie (Ron) Brewer, Crossville, IL, and Tammy (Dell) Driggers, Grayville, IL, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Cozart was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Pauline Gowdy, two brothers, Dick and Jim Cozart, and his father-in-law, Wayne Reeder. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
