Bonnie Fay Sandefur Samples, 88, of Zeigler, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017, at her residence.
She was born on March 22, 1929, to Avel and Lizzie (Swain) Sandefur in Cleburne, IL. On August 19, 1950, she engaged in matrimony with Paul G. Samples and was happily married for 57 years. Bonnie was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Davey M. (Ann Lay) Samples of St. Louis, MO; a grandson, Davey Paul (Itty) Samples; two great grandchildren, Riley and Ryker of Hillsboro MO; two brothers, Leroy Sandefur of Fort Wayne, IN and Jackie Sandefur of Ziegler, IL.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Avel M. and Lizzie P. Sandefur; husband, Paul G. Samples; daughter, Paula Ellen Samples; and a brother, Elmer Sandefur.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
Cremation was held per Bonnie's request.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
