Cami Jo ShepherdKankakee, IL Cami Jo Shepherd, 21, of Kankakee died at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton with Pastor Rod Joplin officiating. Burial will follow at the Liberty Cemetery in Thompsonville. A gathering time for family and friends will be Sunday, May 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes and one hour prior to funeral services at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton. Please make donations to the familys wishes. Cami Jo was born April 25, 1989, in Kankakee to Rex and Tammy Odam Shepherd. She is engaged to Enrique Ruiz. She was employed as a personal assistant and previously worked in the dietary department of Manteno Veterans Home. She enjoyed her work and loved children, especially her nieces and nephew, who meant the world to her. Surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Misty Shepherd of Bradley, and Kristin and Juan Gutierrez of New Bern, N.C., and her nieces and nephews, Daisha Lafond, Alyssa, Alexander and Adrianna Gutierrez. Also surviving are her grandmothers, Eithel Odam of West Frankfort and Lois Jean Shepherd of Thompsonville, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
