Catherine "Cathy" A. Bourland, 74, of Benton, passed away at 2:08 a.m., on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the SSM Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon, IL.

She was born on July 29, 1945, to Aurthur and May Bourland in West Frankfort, IL. She worked as a seamstress for many years.

Cathy was a member of the West City Church of God. She loved sewing, fishing and her church. Cathy also enjoyed flowers and hummingbirds.

She is survived by her one daughter, Pam Bourland; two sons, Carl Gunter and David Bourland; a brother, Red Bourland; her special companion, Edward "Ed" Braden; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family members.

Cathy was preceded in death by father, Aurthur Bourland; mother, May Bourland; one son, Gene Gunter; and two brothers, Bud Bourland and Jim Bourland.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Per Cathy's wishes cremation will take place.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
