Charles K. Todd, 80, of Herrin, IL, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Todd was born on March 11, 1934, in Logan, IL the son of Noah Todd and Ethel, nee Hall, Todd. He married the former Laura Joyce Filkins and she preceded him in death. On December 7th, 2007, he married the former Linda Dallas who survives. Charles served in the United States Air Force. He worked in maintenance at Celebrity Boats manufacturing company. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and time with his grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his two sons, Bill (Theresa Cline) Todd, Mt Vernon, IL, Leslie (Lisa) Todd, Sullivan, IL, sister, Gladys Thompson, Benton, IL, sister-in-law Margaret Todd, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his many buddies especially his best friends Chuck Walker and Terry Moore. Mr. Todd is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, daughter, Mary Ellen Williams, four brothers, James Todd, William N. Todd, John Todd, Walter Todd and four sisters, Elizabeth Todd, Lorene Cunningham, Rose Summers and Nadine Roby. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of funeral expenses.
