Clifford Harrelson, Jr.Benton, IL Clifford Harrelson, Jr., 87, of Benton, died at 8:50 a. m. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Harrelson was born on July 25, 1924 in Benton, IL the son of Clifford Harrelson, Sr. and Ruth (Flannigan) Harrelson. Cliff was a retired salesman, a WW II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge #64. He was also a member of the New Salem Middle Fork Primitive Baptist Church in Benton. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Elizabeth (Steve) Hartline, Holland, MI, Tesha Lynn Stallworth, Pensacola, FL, four grandchildren, Desiree Scott and Nicole Bellomo, both of Pensacola, FL, Connor Hartline and Alexsei Hartline, both of Holland, MI, a sister, June Etherton, Jacksonville, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Harrelson was preceded in death by his parents, two wives and brother-in-law, Bill Etherton. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton with Mike Gunter officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Benton American Legion Post 280, V.F.W. Post 5671, and the Illinois National Guard Honors Team. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton is in charge of arrangements.
