Alan E. "Chief" Shaw CMSgt, United States Air Force - Retired, 58 of Warner Robins, GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Mr. Shaw was born September 4, 1959 in Chelsea, MA, to Donald and Louise Shaw. He was a faithful member of The River Church. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he retired after 24 years of honorable service. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service during "Operation Enduring Freedom".  Alan was presently working for S&K Aerospace. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going camping, and hunting. He adored and thought the world of his grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving husband, son, father, pawpaw, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his brother in law, Daren Joseph.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jackie  Marteney Shaw; parents, Donald and Louise Shaw; daughter, Kelly (Brian)  Gagne; son, Andrew (Melissa) Shaw; 4 grandsons, Jackson,  James, Evan, Zachary; 2 brothers, Scott (Jodi) Shaw; Chris (Jerri) Shaw; 2 sisters. Karyn Joseph; Cheryl (Jeff Moore);  mother-in-law; Janetta Marteney; aunt, Dixie Simmons;  numerous nieces, and nephews.


Funeral Arrangements at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA as follows:


Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.


A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 18, 2018, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Wood will officiate.


Funeral Arrangements at Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL as follows:


Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Pate Funeral Home.


A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Pate Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services, Mr. Shaw will be laid to rest at Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery, Benton, IL., Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 280, VFW Post 2671 and the United States Air Force Honors.
