Colleen J. Hauser, 88, of West Frankfort, passed away at 11:50 p.m., on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on June 20, 1932, to Claude and Carrie (Plaugher) Day in Mount Jackson, VA. On August 7, 1978, she married John Julius Hauser, Sr., in Fairfax, Virginia, and he preceded her in death on Saturday, November 17, 2018.

Colleen was a member of Thompsonville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Colleen was a talented musician. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spoiling her cat.

She is survived by her children, Denise M. Scameheorn of Berrien Center, MI, Gary R. Mitchem of Anahiem, CA, David E. Mitchem of Springfield, VA, John J. Hauser, Jr. of Anaheim, CA and Lorie E. McElligott of El Dorado Hills, CA; six grandchildren, Gabriel Scameheorn, Casey Scameheorn, Joseph Mitchem, Alana Mitchem, Rachel Mitchem and Karlie Hauser.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Claude E. and Carrie L. Day; husband, John Julius Hauser, Sr; and one sister, Lois A. Poehler.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, Il.

A memorial service in Colleen's honor will be held at a later date.
