Curtis "Bum" G. Bybee, 65, of Benton, passed away at 5:33 p.m., on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Franklin Hospital.

Mr. Bybee was born on October 19, 1951, to Herbert and Edith (Brookshire) Bybee in Christopher, IL. Curtis was a graduate from Benton Consolidated High School and a United States Army Veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post in Benton and a former member of the Eagles.

Curtis is survived by his loving daughter, Laura Bybee of Braidwood, IL; a brother, Herbert "Bud" (Sue) Bybee; and sister, Edith L. (Doug) Bybee-Sitzes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hilda Ann Morris, Judy Lee Hescht and Marlyn Murriel Bybee; a brother, Lenard Ray Bybee.

Cremation was held per his wishes, services will be privately held.

Arrangements entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St, Benton, IL.
