Deborah Sue WintersBenton, IL Deborah Sue Winters, 53, of Benton, IL died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at her home. Ms. Winters was born on May 17, 1957 in Charleston, WV the daughter of Charles E. Sanford and Katherine (Kemp) Sanford. Debbie worked at the Franklin Hospital for 23 years as a dietary aide and most recently was employed at the V.F. Factory Outlet in West Frankfort, IL. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Benton, IL. She loved her cats Trouble, Oliver, and Twinkles. Debbie was a loving and caring mother and daughter. Surviving relatives include her mother, Katherine Sanford, Benton, IL, one daughter, Amber Elizabeth Winters, Fairview Heights, IL, one sister, Martha McCreery and husband Bill, Benton, IL, two nephews, Michael Lee McCreery, Benton, IL, Jordan John McCreery and wife Elizabeth, Collinsville, IL, and their children, Syler Alan and Jaylen Lee, a niece, Devan Winters, Benton, IL, a nephew, David Winters, St. Louis, MO. Ms. Winters was preceded in death by her father and an aunt, Dr. Virginia Kemp. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Shook officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, Logan, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
