Donald Francis Hutchison, 73, of Benton, passed away at 11:48 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Franklin Hospital, Benton, IL.
Don was born on December 19, 1942, to Alvin and Rita (Anderson) Hutchison in Chicago, IL. He worked as a maintenance tech.
Mr. Hutchison was a United States Army Veteran.
He enjoyed singing karaoke, camping, traveling, driving and old western movies. Don was a compassionate, caring and thoughtful man.
Don is survived by two sons, Louis Hutchison of Merrionette Park, IL, and Mike Hutchison of Stickney, IL; one daughter, Jeanene Hutchison and Don Potter of Paducah, KY; three grandsons, Donny Potter, Jr., Chance Potter and Tyler Hutchison and three granddaughters, Olivia Potter, Brittany Hutchison and Shanna Rothermel; and his companion, Donna Mabry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Rita Hutchison, his wife, Marie Hutchison and a daughter, Colleen Hutchison.
Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, Benton IL.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. at the Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL., with military rites performed by the American Legion Post 280, VFW Post 2671 and the National Guard Honors Team.
Per Don's wishes, cremation took place.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Benton American Legion/VFW and will be accepted at the funeral home.
