Edward Louis "Louie" Peterman, Sr.Benton, IL Edward Louis "Louie" Peterman, Sr., 85, of Benton, IL, died at 1:55 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich, IL. Mr. Peterman was born on January 28, 1925 in Benton, IL, the son of Steve and Margaret Peterman. He married the former Gilda Kerley on May 8, 1945 and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2007. Ed retired from AT&T in Montgomery, IL where he worked for 35 years as a model maker. He also worked as a coal miner and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He enjoyed fishing, guns, coin collecting and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Surviving relatives include one son, Eddie Peterman and wife Janice, Sheridan, IL, one grandson, Jeff Peterman, Oswego, IL, one great-granddaughter, Brittany A. Peterman, Oswego, IL, sisters-in-law, Darlene Johnson and husband Jack, Thompsonville, IL, Evelyn Wall and husband Wilburn, West Frankfort, IL, Dolly Wilson, Aurora, IL, Joyce Kerley, Sheridan, IL, LaDonna Kerley, Herrin, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Pam Wiggins for her devotion to her uncle Louie. Mr. Peterman was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters, and seven brothers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL with Pastor Roy Boothe officiating. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
