Edward "Ed"
Morgan Albaugh
May 19, 1939 – December 1, 2021
Edward "Ed" Morgan Albaugh, a caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend to all he met, moved on from this life on December 1, 2021 at age 82.
Born to Kennon and Marie Albaugh, of Glenville, WV on May 19, 1939. After high school graduation, Ed attended the University of West Virginia for a few years, studying as a Math Major and playing Football. Upon leaving the university, Ed worked in the Oil industry for Dowell Schlumberger for 37 years before retiring and starting his own trucking business. In retirement, Ed settled in little town of Loudon TN, on the edge of the Smoky Mountains. Ed is proceeded in death by his parents and his son Chris. He is survived by his sons; David (Julie) of Clearwater FL, Rob (Brandi) of Centralia IL, Erik (Allison) of Gayton GA, Keith (Jenna) of Rochester IL and Denny (Brittany) of Du Quoin IL. Additionally, he survived by his 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ed loved spending time with his family, enjoying a good drink and eating anything with hot sauce. In his younger years, he was an avid sportsman, often spending spare time hunting or at a range. Frequently you could find him building or tinkering with something, as he had a passion for woodworking and repair. He was a self-taught jack-of-all-trades, from carpentry, to plumbing, to electrical and mechanical, and he passed those lessons to his sons as best he could. He also took up ballroom dancing in his formative years and you could find him multiple nights a week out on the dance floor cutting a rug.
The family is having a private funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in Ed's honor to a non-for profit of your choice.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL.
