Elizabeth Ann (Liz) Files - Benton, IL Elizabeth Ann (Liz) Files passed away at her home in Benton, IL on Wednesday September 11, 2013 after a seven year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born on August 28, 1956 in Carmi, IL the daughter of Eddie and Janice (Hart) Files of Enfield. Liz worked at the Rend Lake Conservancy for thirty-seven years. She loved traveling with her friends, collecting antiques, panda bears, and lizards. She was a member of the IBEW Union Local 702, B.P.O.E. 1234 and Boneyard Boccie Club, both in Benton, IL, and Moose Lodge # 795, West Frankfort, IL. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Nancy Files, a brother, David Files, a sister-in-law, Jill Files, and a very special niece, Emma Jane Files, all of Carmi, IL. She was loved and cherished by a special companion and friend in her life, Mike (Strawberry) Kinkade, Benton, IL. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Connie Hutson, Sesser, IL, Ruth Rankin, Fairfield, IL, Barbara Jo and Steve Stocke, Enfield, IL, Carmen Hart, Enfield, IL, Patti and Bob Loveall, Benton, IL, Sharon Duvall, Hickory, NC, Frances Davis, Branson, MO, Pifer and Vennie Files, Chambersburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Allen and Edith Files, maternal grandparents, Andy and Fayetta Hart, uncles, Ronnie Files, Mike Hart, and Herb Huston. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton and from 9:00 a.m. until Noon services on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Enfield Cemetery. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield is in charge of all arrangements. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her remembrance at the funeral homes to Chemo Ducks or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
