Gene L. Tucker's Obituary
Gene L. Tucker, 82, of Benton, IL, passed away at 10:10 p.m., on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton, IL.
He was born on June 20, 1935, to Albert and Ione (Hendrickson) Tucker in DeKalb, IL. Gene spent most of his working life at Barber Greene Company in DeKalb and Aurora. On June 24, 1955, he married Nadine Clark and she survives.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Frankfort, IL and was a member of the Illinois National Guard for nine years. Gene enjoyed camping and wood working.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nadine, one son, Bradley Tucker and wife Bonnie of Benton, IL.; one daughter, Brenda Crawford and husband Tony of Portage, WI.; three grandchildren, Austin Tucker, Brittany Heath and Brandy Heath; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Tucker and Ailya Heath.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ione Tucker, five brothers and sisters, Raymond Tucker, Evelyn Osland, Orletta Vancil, Ralph Tucker and Doris Alsabrook.
Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2017, from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home,301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Janneke officiating.
Burial will follow services at Hopewell Church Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Frankfort, IL, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
