Gertrude E. Wyant, 95, of Benton, IL, died at 4:35 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015, at Stonebridge Senior Living Center, Benton, IL. She was born on December 19, 1919, in Karnak, IL, the daughter of Henry K. and Iva Mae (Hayes) Heisner. Gertrude married Jake P. Wyant on June 30, 1937 and he preceded her in death. Gertrude retired from Franklin Hospital as a LPN after 20 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Wyant is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and three brothers. Gertrude is survived by her three sons, Paul Wyant and wife Linda of West Frankfort, IL, Larry L. Wyant of Los Lunas, NM and Michael J. Wyant and wife Nancy of Benton, IL, seven grandchildren, Steven, Scott, Bradley, Tim and Rhonda Wyant, Darryl Klein and Salina Canoy, four great-grandchildren Amy, Matthew and Courtney Wyant and Lauren Canoy, one great-great grandson, Jack Rumpler and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to West City Church of God.
