Gustava R. Heiple - Benton, IL Gustava Ruby (Launius) Heiple, 97, of Benton, IL, wife of the late Robert W. Heiple, went to be with her Lord at 11:04 p. m. Saturday, September 28, 2013. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastors Rod Joplin and Preston House officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, IL. Gussie, as most people knew her, was born on November 11, 1915 in Hamilton County, IL near Dahlgren, the daughter of Edmond Lemmie Launius and Isabelle (Glenn) Launius. She grew up there with four sisters, Glenna, Jewell, Alta, Carmen and one brother, Wayne, who all preceded her in death. At age 9 her mother died in a tornado in 1924. Her father remarried Nell Walls Rich and from that union Gussie has a living sister, Lodene Todd. She is survived by her three children, Donald Wayne Launius, Baytown, TX, Josephine (Jay) Derrick, Baytown, TX, Bonita Ruth (Jack) Clark, Smyrna, TN, three grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn Hay Hughes (Roy) Torr, San Diego, CA, Danita Clark Thomas (Dieter) Wurster, LaVergne, TN, Alison Dawn Hay (Todd) Irwin, Ooltewah, TN, six great-grandchildren, Grayson Tyler Hughes, San Diego, CA, Ashley Sims (Jordan) Spetter, Ewing, IL, Christopher Sims, West Frankfort, IL, Krista Thomas (Micheal) Dodson, LaVergne, TN, Elijah Ryan Irwin and Hannah Mae Irwin, both of Ooltewah, TN, two great-grandchildren, Drake Allen Spetter, Ewing, IL, Alysia Dodson, LaVergne, TN, and one sister, Lodene Todd, Thompsonville, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Heiple was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Julie Ann Hay Sims, four sisters, Glenna Ethel Price, Alta Bell Melvin, Carmen Dell Jones, Jewell Marie Smothers, and one brother, Wayne Lemmie Launius. Gustava has been a life-long member of the Church of God. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Church of God, 707 N.
