Hazel Velma (Furlong) EickelmanLogan, IL Hazel Velma (Furlong) Eickelman, 98, of Logan, died at 2:50 p. m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Helia Healthcare in Benton. Mrs. Eickelman was born on August 9, 1914 in Muddy, IL the daughter of Ralph Furlong and Hester (Lanham) Furlong. She married Ethan Dillon Eickelman and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2001. Hazel was a housewife and of the Protestant faith. Surviving relatives include three children, George Eickelman, Benton, Marilyn (Acil) Couch, Wyoming, MI, Alice Bedokis, West Frankfort, three grandchildren, Donna (Michael) Muto, Willowbrook, IL, Rebecca (Brian) Warnock, Wyoming, MI, Michael (Amanda) Bedokis, Johnston City, two great-grandchildren, Avery Warnock, Wyoming, MI, Charles Bedokis, Johnston City, one sister, Ora Berhow, of Wisconsin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Eickelman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Hughes, Bert and Arvel Furlong, one sister, Lorene, and a son-in-law, Rick Bedokis. Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. to Noon Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
