Ida Mae Black - Benton, IL Ida Mae Black, 81, of Benton, IL, died at 7:25 a. m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Helia Healthcare in Benton. Visitation will be from 1:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Wednesday at the church home with Rev. Bobby Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton is in charge of arrangements. Ida Mae (Steward) Black was born on August 20, 1931 in West Frankfort, IL the daughter of William Lee Steward and Mona (Lawrence) Steward. She married the Rev. Howard C. Black on June 8, 1953 and he preceded her in death November 20, 2005. Ida was a pastors wife, loving mother, and professional seamstress. She served with her husband of 53 years in the Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Benton, IL. She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Black, Benton, Mona Jones and husband Charles, Tunnel Hill, IL, Sarah Adams and husband Ken, Ixonia, WI, two sons, Harold Lee Black, Sr. and wife Christine, St. Peters, MO, Howard Leslie Black and wife Nancy, Tampa, FL, seven grandchildren, Jarrod Gordon and wife Emily, Farmington, MO, Harold Lee Black, II, St. Peters, MO, Sharayah Morley and husband Tim, Valpraiso, IN, Rebekah Black, Jupiter, FL, Darcie Adams, Stevens Point, WI, Howard Stanley Black and Rachel Black, both of St. Peters, MO, two great-grandchildren, Emma Lynn and Deagan Patrick Morley, Valpraiso, IN, two sisters, Ruby Eldridge, Paso Robles, CA, Helen Lemmon and husband Dale, West Frankfort, IL, and a brother-in-law, Robert Black and wife Ruth, Perryville, MO. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Leona Steward. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Benton Church of the Nazarene, 109 N.
