Irene Robertson, 80, of Ewing, IL, died at 3:25 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Robertson was born on September 14, 1934, the daughter of Isham and Willia Mae (Thomas) Ogle Hardesty. She married Lumos Robertson, Jr. on April 25, 1952, and he precedes her in death. Irene worked for the State of Illinois in the Department of Mental Health in Springfield, IL and retired after 20 years. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Benton, IL. Irene enjoyed flowering, gardening, quilting, crocheting, canning food and loved her pet dog. Surviving relatives include one son, David L. Robertson, Sr., Ewing, IL, one daughter, Gloria J. Gillick, Ewing, IL, four grandchildren, Samuel Ealey, III, Conway, AR, Andrew Allen Ealey, Springfield, IL, David Lee Robertson, Jr., Westville, IL, April Dawn Athey, Pawnee, IL, several great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Hammond officiating. Burial will be at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospice 605 North Twelfth St., Mt. Vernon, IL 62864 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
