Ivan Eugene Lewis - Benton, IL Ivan Eugene Lewis, 63, of Benton, IL, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at his home. Mr. Lewis was born on April 9, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Warren Eugene Lewis and Nola Maxine (Cremeens) Lewis Walker. He married the former Mary Jane Daugharty in May 7, 1984 and she survives. Ivan retired from the Illinois Central Railroad and then worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Railroad Clerks Union, attended the First Christian Church, Benton, IL and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed participating in several area car shows with his restored 1980 candy apple red Corvette. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mary Jane Lewis, Benton, IL, mother and step-father, Nola Maxine Lewis Walker and William J. Walker, Benton, IL, seven children, Jodi Elizabeth (Mark) Boeving, Breese, IL, Erik Ivan Lewis, Crete, IL, Robert Paul (Maria) Dubs, Sr., Mt. Vernon, IL, Jennifer (Michael) Butler, Benton, IL, Trisha (Ryan) Roberson, Ridgecrest, CA, Shaun Bradley (Lesley) Dubs, Benton, IL, Nicole Marie Bullock, Benton, IL, twenty grandchildren, Michael Lewis, Peoria, AZ, Christopher M. Roche, Hannah V. Keith, Johnny R. Keith, Jeffrey W. Keith, all of Breese, IL, Morgan J. Roberson, Addison D. Roberson, Ryder R. Roberson, all of Ridgecrest, CA, Dylan B. Dubs, Jessica L. Dubs, Gage E. Dubs, Tyler C. Dubs, all of Benton, IL, Brianna I. Bullock, Payton M. Bullock, both of Benton, IL, Heather M. Williams, Nikki A. Dubs, Robert P. Dubs, Jr., all of Mt. Vernon, IL, Alexis L. Lewis, Crete, IL, Derek M. Butler, Brett A. Butler, both of Benton, IL, two great-grandchildren, Jordan Lewis and Hayden Smith, one sister, Dina Rea Lewis, St. Louis, MO, a step-sister, Pat (Ralph) Jocke, Medina, OH, his best friend, Darrell Ciofalo, Benton, IL, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Cynthia Ruth Lewis and Jama Maxine Lewis. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL with military rites performed by the Benton American Legion and V.F.W.
