Jack G. Johnson, 89, of Thompsonville, born July 18, 1928, in Benton, IL, passed away June 15, 2018, at Herrin Hospital.
Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working outdoors, gardening, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving spouse of 69 years, Darlene (Kerley) Johnson; three children, Terry Johnson and wife Brenda, Pam Wiggins and Mike Johnson; 9 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, G.A. Wiggens; and a sister, JoAnn Dillion.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 18, 2018, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, 10:30 a.m., at the Pate Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
