Jacob "Kosmo" Daniel Greenawald, 22, of Benton, passed away at 6:40 p.m., on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Mr. Greenawald was born on October 3, 1997, to Jody Greenawald and Sheryl Mather in Freehold, NJ. He was a 2017 graduate of Benton Consolidated High School, and was known as the Benton Warrior. In Jacob's free time he enjoyed Airsoft Sports, Yugioh Cards and attending conventions, and working on large Lego projects.

Jacob is survived by his father Jody (Tammy Johnson) Greenawald; and his loving family.

He was preceded in death by mother, Sheryl Mather.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Cremation will take place, and a memorial service will take place at his family home in West City, IL., on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 2 p.m.
