James Edward Cooper, 64, of Benton, passed away at 3:25 p.m., on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

He was born on August 24, 1959, to James and Phyllis (Brumett) Cooper in Marion, IL.   James married Joyce Overbey, and she survives.

James was preceded in death by Father, James Cooper, Mother, Phyllis Cooper.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, 11:30 a.m., at the Brady Cemetery, Akin, IL, with Pastor Jesse Hinds, officiating.
