Jamima Moore - Benton, IL Jamima Moore, 92, of Benton, IL, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Franklin Hospital, Benton, IL. Mrs. Moore was born on April 7, 1920 in Marion, IL the daughter of Robert Reid and Janet (Wilson) Reid. She married Michael Simkovich, Jr. in 1938 and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1946 from injuries sustained in a coal mining accident at Old Ben Coal Mine #14 in Buckner, IL. She later married Russell Ward Moore in 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1998. Jamima owned and operated her own business in Benton for thirty years and was also a homemaker. She was an eighty-two year member of the First Christian Church in Benton. Jamima was also Past-President of the American Legion Post 280 Ladies Auxiliary, and former member of the Franklin Hospital Auxiliary, Benton Garden Club, and Business and Professional Women's Club. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Janet (John) Kolisek, Benton, IL, one son, John (Betty) Moore, Benton, IL, four-grandchildren, Frank R. (Lisa) Kolisek, M.D., Indianapolis, IN, John Michael Kolisek, Indianapolis, IN, Erin (Jason) Bennett, Brighton, CO, Sarah (Ora) Miller, Marion, IL, great-grandchildren, Jake, Charles, Kelsey, and Kenedi Kolisek, Taylor and Madison Noel, Wyatt Jones and Landon Miller, one sister, Dorothy (Paul) Lynch, Nason, IL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers, Robert, George, and Harry Reid, and two sisters, Ruby Crivokapich and Janet Murry. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the First Christian Church, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Kurtis Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL is in charge of arrangements.
