Jane E. Myers, 80, of Benton, passed away at 12:21 a.m., on  Tuesday, April 25, 2023,  at South East Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born on January 5, 1943, to Samuel and Mary Faye (Rogers) Wertz in Benton, IL. Jane married Wayne Myers and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Church of God in West Frankfort. Jane enjoyed researching her family's genealogy and bowling.

Jane is survived by her son, Alan (DeAnna) Loss of Benton, IL; three step-daughters, Paula Cooper, Debbie Keeney and Jennifer Dick; grandson, James (Charolett) Loss and two sisters, Jo Dunn of Benton, IL and  Shirley Seals of Parma, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and  Mary Faye Wertz, her husband, Wayne Myers, her son, Donald  Loss, three brothers, Harry Wertz, James "Butch" Wertz and Wayne Wertz and two sisters, Carolyn Miller and Louise Elders.

Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main St., Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL, with Pastor Gayle Stone, officiating.

Memorials may be made to First Church of God in West Frankfort IL, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
