Jenny K. Boots, 58, of Benton, IL died at 1:12 p. m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Boots was born on May 23, 1954 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Curtis Battin and Rita (Pasdertz) Battin. She married Rodney Boots on August 29, 1976 and he survives. Jenny enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was the secretary of the Benton Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving relatives include her husband, Rodney Boots, Benton, three children, Sheresa Taylor, Benton, Patti Miller, Benton, Jamie Miller, Carterville, a step-son, Rodney Beasley, Barlow, KY, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four siblings, Debbie Gillhan, Coal City, Robert Battin, Middlesburg, FL, William Battin, Joliet, Patty Frey, Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Curtis Boots. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Brother Bryant Harris officiating.
