John Julius Hauser, Sr.'s Obituary
John Julius Hauser Sr., 80, of West Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Herrin Hospital.
He was born on March 27, 1938, to Herbert and Loretta (Walz) Hauser in Burlington, IA. On August 7, 1978, he married Colleen Day at Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Hauser retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service to his country. After his retirement he was employed by EG&G Corporation, where he was a procurement officer for five years. He then became a Snap-on Dealer and was the number one sales representative for five years in Northern Virginia. In his most recent years he volunteered at 3ABN.
He was a member of the Thompsonville Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
John is survived by his loving spouse of 40 years, Colleen; five Children, John J. Hauser, Jr. of Anaheim, CA, Lorie E. McElligott of El Dorado Hills, CA, Denise M. Scameheorn of Berrien Center, MI, Gary R. Mitchem of Anahiem, CA, and David E. Mitchem of Springfield, VA; four siblings, Paula Fargen, Carol Hauser, Donald Hauser and Richard Hauser; six grandchildren, Karlie Hauser, Grabriel Scameheorn, Casey Scameheorn, Joseph Mitchem, Alana Mitchem, and Rachel Mitchem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. and Loretta A. Hauser; one son, Michael Hauser; a sister, JoAnn Nicassio; and one brother, Herbert Hauser.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Thompsonville Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with John Lomacang officiating services.
Memorial contributions may be made to 3ABN, and will be accepted at the church.
