Joyce L. Ragan, 76, of Buckner, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on March 11, 1944, to Oness and Celia (McAdoo) Schram in Benton, IL. Joyce was the Owner of Ragan, LTD, aka Ragan's Yamaha. On June 13, 1959, she married James "Jimmy" Carl Ragan, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2015.

She was a 30 year member of the Franklin Hospital District Board.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed going to races, catering, and running her family business.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy L. Ragan and Pam (Darren) Hansen; daughter-in-law, Debbie Ragan; four grandchildren, Chris (Marcie) Ragan, Gwayne (Sara) Williams, David (Chelsie) Ragan and Marcus Miller; four great-grandchildren, Braxton Ragan, Maston Snider, Zayden Williams and Revvy Race Ragan.

She was preceded in death by parents, Oness Pearl and Celia Schram; husband, James "Jimmy" Carl Ragan, two sons, Jeff Ragan and Mike Ragan, six brothers, Bob Schram, Bill Schram, Truman Schram, Pete Schram, Jack Schram, Paul Schram; and three sisters, Jean Summers, Ramona Lewis and Elizabeth Hernandez.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL, with Coach Tom Wheeler, officiating.

A private graveside service will take place at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.

In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts memorial contributions may be made to Pate Funeral Home in care of funeral expenses, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
