Judy Sue Hefner, 78, of Santa Rosa, CA, formerly of Benton, passed away on June 6, 2016, at the Vale Healthcare Center, San Pablo, CA.
She was born on January 24, 1938, to Hillery and Marcella (Golden) Melvin in West Frankfort, IL. Judy was a Homemaker. On June 18, 1956, she married Carl Eugene "Gene" Hefner and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2005.
Mrs. Hefner was a member of North Benton Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
Judy is survived by her two children, Dianna Delgy and husband Gerald of Santa Rosa, CA, and Rick Hefner of Buckner, IL; three grandchildren, Evan Delgy, Mark Hefner and Amy Chapman; a great-grandson, Mark Anthony Hefner.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl "Gene" Eugene Hefner; parents, Hillery and Marcella (Golden) Melvin and a sister, Jo Ann Melvin.
A private graveside service will be held at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
