Kenneth Kelly Fitch - Thompsonville, IL On Sunday, April 22, 2012 Kenneth Kelly Fitch went to see his Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by his loving wife, children and several grandchildren. Kenneth was born on February 21, 1930 in Martin, TN the son of Luther W. Fitch and Lizzie O. (Holland) Fitch. He was the 13th of 14 children. He married the former Dorothy Arview on December 17, 1949 and she survives. From their marriage six children were born, Marlene (Jerry) Dale, Logan, IL Rita (John) Graskewicz, Thompsonville, IL Marilyn (John) McClure, Jeffersonville, IN Barry (Phyllis) Fitch, Cord (Stacey) Fitch, all of Thompsonville, IL and Mark (Tonya) Fitch, Pershing, IL. Other surviving relatives include fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Lovan, Benton, IL and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, twelve brothers and sisters and one granddaughter, Jennifer Riley. Kenneth was saved on July 16, 1953 and was licensed to preach the gospel on July 3, 1957. He pastored several churches for over fifty years. He was a retired coal miner and avid fisherman but his greatest joy was spending time with his family sitting around the fire roasting hotdogs and telling stories. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory, Benton, IL. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Grace Awakening Church, 313 North McLeansboro Street, Benton, IL with Pastor Ken Petty officiating.
