Kenneth Earl SummersBonita Springs, FL Kenneth Earl Summers, 84, of Bonita Springs, FL, a former West City, IL resident, died at 11:44 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010 in Bonita Springs, FL. Mr. Summers was born on June 21, 1926 in Benton, IL the son of Rassie and Nellie (McCasland) Summers. He married Cora Lorraine Rice, his loving wife of 62 years, on February 17, 1946. Lorraine preceded him in death on November 19, 2008. Kenneth retired in 1980 from Orient #3 Mine where he worked as Assistant Mine Manager for 34 years. He was a member of the Living Word Family Church, Naples, FL and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy, South Pacific fleet. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Donna S. Dittamore and husband Chuck, Bonita Springs, FL, a son, Kenneth L. Summers, Palm Springs, CA, two grandsons, Douglas Dittamore, Nashville, TN, Corey Dittamore and wife Rene, Broken Arrow, OK, three great-granddaughters, Ashley Fouch and husband Rob, Jenks, OK, Marcella and Francie Dittamore, Broken Arrow, OK, a great-great-grandson, Finn Fouch, Jenks, OK, and one sister, Lois Smith and husband Fred, Irvington, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with services immediately following on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL with military rites performed by the Benton American Legion and V.F.W.
