Larry ChaplainWhittington, IL Larry Chaplain, 55, of Whittington, IL, died at 4:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Mr. Chaplain was born on March 26, 1958 in Gary, IN the son of Jack and Pat (Shirley) Chaplain. He married the former Jackie Hunsinger on September 26, 1980 and she survives. Larry loved his family. He worked at Heritage Trailers in Benton and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Surviving relatives include his wife, Jackie Chaplain, Whittington, his two beautiful and much loved daughters, Sara (Rocky) Thomas, Benton, Emily (Marc) Lodyga, New Hampshire, grandchildren, Logan, Jadyn, Miley, Morgan, and "Lucy", his father and best friend, Jack Chaplain and fiance Jeris, Benton, one brother, Steve Chaplain, Benton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Chaplain was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Mark Chaplain. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
