Leon I. Ellis, 79 of West Frankfort, IL, born November 14, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, IL, passed away 11:15 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Ellis served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Forth) Ellis, and three children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferrel and Evelyn (Carter) Ellis. Funeral services will be privately held with burial at Masonic and Odd Fellow Cemetery, Benton, IL with Military Rites performed by the Benton American Legion and the Marion National Honor Guard.
