Lida Mae Rusher - Benton, IL Lida Mae Rusher, 81, of Benton, IL, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Rusher was born April 30, 1929 in Rend City, IL the daughter of Raymond Miller and Nina (Jones) Miller. She married John Henry Rusher on Dec. 24, 1945 and he survives. Lida was a retired cook for the Benton Grade School District and a member of the Rend City Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, and sewing, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving relatives include her husband John Rusher, Benton, IL, five children, Barbara Jane McCoy, Benton, IL, Richard Rusher, Terre Haute, IN, Christy Davenport, Henderson, KY, Kathy Rusher, Benton, IL, Steve Rusher, Mt. Vernon, IN, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five sisters, Doris Gilbreath, Benton, IL, Ailene Lieberman, St. Louis, MO, Billie Hesselberg, St. Louis, MO, Karen Morrison, Benton, IL, Ruth Ann Patin, Shreveport, LA, one brother, James Miller, Benton, IL, brother-in-law, Larry Rusher, Chicago, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rusher was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Cremeens officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
