Maiola L. "Mae" Venters, 72, of Benton, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 9:10 am at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon, IL. Mae was born January 11, 1943, in Hickman County, KY, the daughter of Clayton and Ruby (Chandler) Rogers. She married Jack Venters on October 17, 1963, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. She enjoyed traveling and listening to country music. Mae loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Renata (Brian Morgan) Lowery of Bluford IL; her son, Clay (Amanda) Venters of Paducah, KY; significant other, Jim Lambert of Buckner, IL; four grandchildren, Brandon Lowery of Benton, IL, Jonathan Lowery of Benton, IL, Cierra Watson of Paducah, KY, Aleah Venters of Paducah, KY; a great-grandson, Brantley; one brother, Wayne (Betty) Rogers of Ledbetter, KY; two sisters, Ann Crawford of Wyandotte, MI and Virginia Colum of Mayfield, KY and numerous nieces, nephews & friends. She was preceded in death by husband, parents, two sisters, Donna Norsworthy and Dorothy Goatley and one brother, Tommy Rogers. Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL. Funeral Services under the direction of Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
