Margaret "Marge" Shepard - Benton, IL Margaret "Marge" Shepard, 91, of Benton, IL, died at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Helia Healthcare, Benton, IL. Mrs. Shepard was born on February 4, 1919 in Sikeston, MO the daughter of George Howes and Jesse Ural (Houston) Howes. She married Richard (L.F.) Shepard and he preceded her in death in May 1997. Marge worked at Grunwald' in St. Charles, IL prior to her retirement and was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church, Boonville, IN. Surviving relatives include six grandchildren, Richard Shepard, of California, Jeff Shepard, Kelly Spalding, and Jennifer Sidem, all of Wisconsin, Valerie Lockwood and Andy Thurber, both of Florida, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Janet Schmidt, of Florida, Artalee Booth, of Texas, a sister-in-law, Genevieve Champlin, of Benton, IL, a daughter-in-law, Carol Shepard, of Wisconsin, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Shepard was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Richard Shepard, a daughter, Marlene Joy Watson, three brothers, Robert and Sanford Champlin, Haskell "Hack" Howes, and one sister, Maryetta Gottman. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Koehler Funeral Home, Boonville, IN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Father Lowell Will officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN.
