Marie Loretta Higgins - Benton, IL Marie Loretta Higgins, 89, of Benton, IL, died at 2:45 a. m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton. Mrs. Higgins was born on February 2, 1924 in Vergennes, IL the daughter of Adolph Endres and Ida Mary (Eisenhauuer) Endres. She married George Higgins on May 24, 1945 and he survives. Marie was a housewife and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton. Marie was a loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed by her family. She was also adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving relatives include her husband, George Higgins, Benton, IL, five children, Dennis (Pam) Higgins, Highland, IL, Lynnette Higgins, Benton, IL, Patrick (Robin) Higgins, Columbus, OH, Ted (Celeste) Higgins, Benton, IL, Gina (Greg) Gajewski, OFallon, MO, seven grandchildren, Heather Rabinowitz, Palm Harbor, FL, Ann Osborn, Des Moines, IA , Hayley Knick, Columbus, OH, Kelsey Higgins, Columbus, OH, Ryan Gajewski, Columbia, MO, Kayla Gajewski, OFallon, MO, Nathanael Higgins, Benton, IL, five great-grandchildren, Olivia Rabinowitz, Palm Harbor, FL, Steffen, Karleigh, Briella, and Cainan Osborn, all of Des Moines, IA, two sisters, Lucille Parrish, Carbondale, IL, Patty Combs, Evansville, IN, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Gene, Charles, and Alvin Endres, and two sisters, Frances Allard and Irea Berg. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a. m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery, Elkville, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 506 West Main St., Benton, IL 62812 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
