Mary Ellen Buntin's Obituary
Mary Ellen Buntin, 92, of Macedonia, passed away at 4:42 a.m., on Thursday, June 24, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.
She was born on September 20, 1923, to Osias and Blanche (Garner) Craddock in Hamilton County, IL. Mary worked at various jobs but had worked 25 years at Immediate Cleaners in Benton. In 1965, she married James "Bub" Buntin and he has preceded her in death.
She was a member of the East Benton Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Mary is survived by her niece, Linda Emery and her husband Gary, of Carterville, IL; two nephews, Robert Buntin and his wife Marge, of Akin, IL and Mike Buntin and his wife Brenda, of Akin, IL; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Osias and Blanche Craddock, her husband, James "Bub" M. Buntin, one brother, Joe Craddock, one sister, Ruby Kaspar, one nephew, Mark Craddock and one niece, Jean Channess.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., at Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main St., Benton, IL. Following visitation the funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Graveside service at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL, with Eddie Paul Davis, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ministerial Alliance in Benton, IL and will be accepted at the funeral home.
