MaryAnn Sandusky, 82, of Herrin, IL, died 2:12 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center, Herrin, IL. Mrs. Sandusky was born April 23, 1932, the daughter of Raymond and Lorraine Martel. She married Troy A. Sandusky on April 16, 1984 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2013. MaryAnn was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving relatives include her son, Herbert R. Michaels, III, Buffalo, NY and one daughter, Cynthia L. Doby, Bloomsburg, PA, one step-son, Lee Greenwald, one step-daughter, Lois Greenwald, four grandchildren, Ashley L. Michaels, Jennifer L. Balser, Jason M. Doby, Luke A. Doby, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Sandusky was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and sisters. MaryAnn's wishes were to be cremated. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton is providing cremation services to the family.
